If you have time and patience, in Mallorca you will discover with pleasure and admiration our old grocer’s shops, tiny but exquisite haberdasheries, or the counters and windows of some sweet shops and patisseries that were founded at the beginning of the last century.
In Mallorca, the most usual thing to do is to buy an ensaïmada. Bakeries and patisseries wrap this typical product up so that you can take it home. The ensaïmada can have many sizes and contents. The smallest ones are single portions that are usually eaten at breakfast, as a snack or as a desert in particular celebrations or family reunions. After the one-portion format, sizes start to increase up to a maximum of 70 cm in diameter.
Apart from visiting the centre of Palma, where most of the island’s activity is, Shopping Mallorca suggests that you visit other locations. There, you can enjoy a day of shopping combined with unique natural and urban areas and the character of charming villages.
