Alaró

Alaró is a municipality located in Es Pla at the foot of Serra de Tramuntana. It belongs to the district of Raiguer and is bounded by Bunyola, Escorca, Lloseta, Mancor de la Vall, Binissalem, Consell and Santa Maria del Camí. It is 26 km from Palma (via motorway and road).

Alcudia

The municipality of Alcúdia, 54 km from Palma, is located in a peninsula that divides the bays of Alcúdia and Pollença. Situated between these two big bays, this town was once a Roman colony. There, you can still visit the interesting remains of the Roman town of Pollentia. Alcúdia is a heavenly place that hasn’t passed unnoticed by the different ethnic groups and cultures that have lived in this spot since prehistoric times.

Algaida

Algaida is a municipality located in the southeast of Mallorca. It belongs to the region of Es Pla and is only 22 km from Palma. This municipality is bounded by Sencelles to the north, by Lloret de Vistalegre and Montuïri to the east, by Llucmajor to the south and by Palma and Santa Eugènia to the west. From Palma, you can get to Algaida through the Ma-15.

Andratx

Andratx has a surface are of 82.55 km² and an average height of 101 metres. It is bounded by Estellencs to the north and by Calvià to the east, while the rest of the territory is bounded by the sea. It is 27 km from Palma. This municipality is located in the most western part of Mallorca, on the southwest end of the mountain range of Serra de Tramuntana.

Ariany

Artá

The municipality of Artà is on the north of Mallorca. It has a surface area of 140 km² and a coastal area of 25 km. It is a mountainous region. Its highest peak is 562 metres high. It has extensive sand beaches that have not been urbanised. Artà is bounded by Capdepera, Son Servera, Sant Llorenç des Cardessar, Petra and Santa Margalida.

Banyalbufar

The municipality of Banyalbufar covers an area of 18.1 km² right in Serra de Tramuntana. It is located next to the C-710 road, which connects Pollença and Andratx. This region includes four small mountains. The highest one is Sa Mola de Planícia (942 m) and the smallest one is Sa Talaia, with just 309 m.

Located in the comarca of Es Pla, Costitx is a municipality that has lived from agriculture for many centuries. Inca

Inca is the capital of Es Raiguer district, in the middle of Mallorca. It is located between the municipalities of Selva, Búger, Sa Pobla, Llubí, Sineu, Costitx, Sencelles, Binissalem, Lloseta and Mancor de la Vall, about 29 km from Palma. It has a population of 25000 people and is the nerve centre in term of agricultural and cattle farming on the island. It has been a city since 1900.

Llucmajor

Llucmajor is the biggest municipality in Mallorca. It borders Palma, Algaida, Montuïri, Porreres and Campos, and has important tourist areas such as Cala Pi, Cala Blava and S’Arenal, on the eastern part of Platja de Palma. This municipality contains mountain areas, cultivated land with dry-land crops, cliffs and beaches.

Manacor

The municipality of Manacor is located on the east of Mallorca. It is the capital of the comarca of Llevant as well as the administrative centre of this area. With a population of 40000 people, it is the third most important municipality on the island and the fourth in terms of extension.

Mancor de la Vall

It has an extension of 19 km² and is bounded by Selva, Inca, Lloseta, Alaró and Escorca. Its main population centre is located in a small valley surrounded by mountains. Mancor de la Vall connects by road with Inca, Biniamar and Caimari.

Marratxí

This municipality is composed of several population centres: Marratxinet, Pont d’Inca, Pla de na Tesa, Sa Cabaneta, Pòrtol, Es Caulls and several more. Muro

Muro is an important municipality located on the north part of Mallorca. It has two population centres: Muro and Platja de Muro (5.5 km long). Petra

The municipality of Petra has a surface area of 70.13 km². It is located 44 km from Palma via the motorway that connects the capital with Manacor. It borders the municipalities of Villafranca de Bonany, Sant Joan, Sineu, Ariany, Santa Margalida, Artà, Sant Llorenç de Cardessar and Manacor. It has a population of 2500 inhabitants.

Pollensa

Pollença is a municipality located on the north part of Mallorca. It is bounded by the municipalities of Alcúdia, Sa Pobla, Campanet and Escorca, as well as by the sea to the north. It has an extension of 146.03 km², being the sixth biggest municipality in Mallorca. Pollença has 15000 inhabitants, ranking eighth in population. The village is located inland, while the beautiful Cala Sant Vicenç and the elegant Port de Pollença are on the coast.

Porreres

Porreres is a municipality located on the south-central area of Mallorca. It has an extension of 85.63 km² and a population of 4364 inhabitants. More than 1000 hectares of municipal land are part of the Massís de Randa nature area of special interest.

Sencelles

Sóller

Sóller is a municipality located in Serra de Tramuntana. It is bounded by Fornalutx, Escorca, Bunyola, Deià and by the sea to the west. It has an extension of 42.56 km² and a population of 10000 inhabitants. The town of Sóller is located in a beautiful valley, surrounded by the highest mountains in Mallorca. It is one of the most unique places on the island due to its natural isolation and the beauty of its landscapes. In 1912 the valley of Sóller was connected to the rest of Mallorca thanks to the inauguration of the railway services, which since then link the valley with Palma. Today, a tunnel also connects the valley and the city.

Son Servera

Initially, the village of Son Servera, located on the northeast of Mallorca and close to the sea, was a small village that belonged to Artà. In less than fifty years, this small and rural population centre has grown into an important municipality highly influenced by the tourist industry. It is located between the municipalities of Capdepera, Artà and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar and has a coastal area of 7 km.

Valldemossa

This small village on the northwest coast of Mallorca is an important reference point at a tourist, environmental and cultural level. It has a few important tourist attractions and constitutes the starting point of many hiking routes in Serra de Tramuntana. The village is located 400 metres above sea level and is 15 km from Palma. There are bus services that depart daily from Palma and connect Valldemossa with Deià and Sóller.
