In the vicinity of the Hermitage of Sant Miquel, within the municipality of Campanet, an impressive hydrological phenomenon takes place every year. As if by magic, resounding water fountains rise in the forest of the finca of Gabellí every time that the autumn or winter rain has been abundant. They are popularly known as Ses Fonts Ufanes (“The Ufan Fountains”).
The finca of Son Real is located on the coast of the municipality of Santa Margalida, between Can Picafort and Son Serra de Marina. In 2002, it was purchased by the Government of the Balearic Islands in order to preserve its natural and ethnological values, as well as its archaeological sites.
La Reserva Puig de Galatzó is a natural park unique in Mallorca. It has over 2.5 millions of square metres and is located 17 km from Palma. To get there you have to pass through Puigpunyent and follow the signs from the village.
Llevant Natural Park is located on one end of the Llevant peninsula, within the municipality of Artà, on the northeast of Mallorca. It is a mountainous area with harsh vegetation, in which the Chamaerops and the beach grass grow.
Mondragó Natural Park is located in one of the ornithological richest areas in Mallorca. It is located on the south of the island, within the municipality of Santanyí. It presents a wide variety of landscapes with canyons, beaches, dunes, ravines and Holm oak forests.
S’Albufera, located between the municipalities of Alcúdia, Muro and Sa Pobla, is a vast wet area of great environmental importance. It was the first natural park of the Balearic Islands. In 1988, the Government approved the creation of this park, thanks to which 1700 ha are protected.
The Archipelago of Cabrera consists of a group of islands and islets. It is located about 10 km to the south of Mallorca and is has been a Maritime-Terrestrial National Park since the 12th of April of 1991. It is an insular area preserved in its natural condition. It includes an ecosystem of high ecological value, including one of the best preserved sea beds in the Mediterranean.
Formentor is a narrow peninsula with a length of 12 km and a width of 3 km. It is located at the north end of Mallorca, within the municipality of Pollença. It is one of the most emblematic and visited spots in Mallorca thanks to its beautiful landscape, which brings together the sea and the mountains.
Sa Calobra is one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca. It is a cove of great charm and difficult access. You can get there by boat, which departs from Port de Sóller, or by car via a winding narrow road, with 80 º curves, which goes from the highest point in Serra de Tramuntana up to the sea. One of the most famous curves is “Es Nus de Corbata” (Tie Knot), which turns at a full 360 degrees.
Located in Campos, the Hotel Spa San Juan de la Font Santa is the only hot spring in the Balearic Islands. It contains sodium chloride waters. It is a place especially designed for health and wellbeing purposes. It is located on the road that goes from Campos to Sa Colònia de Sant Jordi.
