Sa Calobra and Torrent de Pareis

Sa Calobra is one of the most beautiful places in Mallorca. It is a cove of great charm and difficult access. You can get there by boat, which departs from Port de Sóller, or by car via a winding narrow road, with 80 º curves, which goes from the highest point in Serra de Tramuntana up to the sea. One of the most famous curves is “Es Nus de Corbata” (Tie Knot), which turns at a full 360 degrees.
Once at the bottom, there is a car park and some restaurants next to the beach of Sa Calobra, one of the most beautiful beaches in the Balearic Islands.
Sa Calobra is a pebble beach located between two mountains that seem to have been designed to give shelter to this small cove, from where we can walk to the mouth of Torrent de Pareis, the second biggest ravine in the entire Mediterranean. The pebble beach of Torrent de Pareis is completely virgin and natural.
All this area is very famous among hiking, potholing and canyoning enthusiasts. From Sa Calobra the most adventurous ones can go up to Sa Fosca, a place where the walls of the ravine get narrower every time and become an underground cave where water flows.
This route is only suitable for experiences potholers. Those with no experience can forget about it. In Sa Fosca there have been many accidents and some people have lost their life because they ran unnecessary risks.
The boat journey from Sóller, which also stops in Cala Tuent, is amazing, since you can enjoy stunning views of the Serra de Tramuntana. It is an unforgettable experience.
