Palma
Situated near the Mediterranean Sea, the city of Palma is the capital of the island of Mallorca and of the Autonomous Region of the Balearic Islands. It is located in a bay, which makes this city one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean.
Just 10 minutes from the airport (the 3rd most important airport in Spain) and only 2 hours away from any European destination, Palma has a wide variety of hotels, culture and sport activities, gastronomy, etc... Thanks to a mild climate, in Palma you can also go cycling, hiking... and practice all kinds of outdoor sports almost all year long.
Most of the tourists that visit the city like to disappear into its narrow streets. Discovering its cultural heritage and its monuments, such as the sublime Gothic Cathedral, the old city wall, the Bellver Castle, and visiting the different museums you can find here will make you observe the city with fresh eyes.
The treading nature of the locals turns Palma into one of the most interesting shopping spots in the Mediterranean, with a great variety of shops and shopping centres that will make you enjoy and lose all sense of time. In Palma you can buy both exclusive and handmade products at a very good price. Walking through the city you will find different street markets with fresh products, as well as authentic Mallorcan grocery stores.
Furthermore, the city has a wide network of bars and restaurants where you can taste the famous Mediterranean touch than only Palma treasures. There is nothing better than a good Mallorcan dish and a good wine to keep going, since there is a lot to see in Palma.
