Portals Nous / Bendinat
In honour of the old “portals”, this place was given the name of Portals Nous (“New Portals”). Here, you can find an oratory with the figure of Our Lady of Portals. Just a few metres from the oratory, there is a beach that bears the same name and which has been awarded the European Blue Flag Certification.
This area is located just a few kilometres to the west of the capital and within the large Bay of Palma. It is a prestigious meeting point due to many important nautical events.
Porto Portals is currently worldwide famous thanks to its marina, where every year anchor and meet the most famous and international jet set celebrities. The hotels in Portals Nous are very different, since they offer luxurious complementary services.
For that reason, Porto Portals is one of the points of reference in terms of nightlife in Mallorca. Moreover, its hotels are an expression of the island’s glamour and good taste.
Only a few kilometres away there is Bendinat, one of the most exclusive population centres in Mallorca. It is one of Calviàs’ population centres and is famous for offering one of the most exclusive atmospheres within the entire municipality. It also has a golf course, which is known for being one of the most interesting sports facilities on the island.
As a traditional element, it is important to highlight the Bendinat Castle, of private property, which was built in the 19th century with all the splendour of the neoclassical style. This structure was built as an imitation of the Central European castles under the guidance of the Marquis of La Romana. Furthermore, Bendinat has a natural thermal bath, which is worthwhile visiting. On this stretch of the rocky Mallorcan coast it is easy to go down and reach the sea.
