Mallorca has around twenty theatres, both private and state owned. The main ones are located in Palma. These are the Auditorium and the Principal Theatre, where the main national plays, ballets and musicals are performed.
As well as a great number of galleries and exhibition halls, Palma and the island of Mallorca in general also have singular cultural bastions.
Most of the cinemas in Palma have become multiplex cinemas, where different films are simultaneously shown in independent screens.
