20.15% of the public health system users (IB Salut) in the Balearic Islands are of foreign nationality. At the end of June, in this autonomous region, a total of 1.034.272 people had a health card, 816.355 of which were from Mallorca.
The island has assistance centres and private clinics, and is at the top of the national ranking in terms of private healthcare. The Balearic Islands are the third Spanish region with a higher number of healthcare companies per 1000 inhabitants and has a high representation in relation to the registered population (2.7% as opposed to 2.13%).
